SAN FRANCISCO TRAVEL
San Francisco Travel asked Code and Theory to relaunch its site to increase visitation to the city. For the redesign we created a responsive guide that showcases curated trip ideas and the city’s neighborhoods and attractions. Visitors can book hotels and tickets through the site, and find geo-targeted activities based on where they are in the city. Alternately the site serves the travel planning and trade industries, allowing them to find relevant information like how to book a convention center or how a client can get to and from the airport.
As creative director, I oversaw the entire visual design and user experience of the site. Visually we aimed to bring the excitement of the city to the forefront with a tile based grid featuring curated photography, digestible copy and visual page breakers which capture moments of the city from the seals at Fisherman’s Wharf to the views in Dolores Park. Additionally, we created an icon system representing the personality of each of San Francisco’s neighborhoods. The site was a 2015 Webby finalist for Best Association web site.
