ADIDAS MLS MASHUPS
While working at EVB, I was senior art director on an integrated campaign for MLS soccer, America's premier soccer league. Our assignment was to raise awareness for domestic soccer and position Adidas as the leading sponsor of the sport. The idea we created was to launch a campaign during the playoffs that activated fans’ passion for their regional teams through music. To accomplish this, we paired each team with a popular musical act from their city and created audio video mash-ups each time two teams played. The campaign was advertised in local papers, in-store promotions, online, television and social media.
The mash-ups were created by some the world’s best VJS: Eclectic Method (UK) and C-TRL Labs (NYC) and featured music by artists like Solange, Mates of State, Spankrock, Vaux, Ozomatli, Blackpool Lights, The Polyphonic Spree, The Academy Is, and The Lordz. The site won the Ad:Tech Best Integrated Campaign award.
In this video, Eclectic Method talks about their inspirations, the future of video mixing technology and their experiences working with artists like Fatboy Slim and doing live shows for the MTV Europe Music Awards.
